Dust Devil (1992)

Plot: A shape shifter (Burke) comes from the desert in search of victims, a spirit the locals call “The Dust Devil”. He prays on the lonely and the unloved, those that have already lost everything but life itself. Wendy (Field) has broken up with her husband and wanders aimlessly in her car. She picks up a stranger and begins having misgivings about picking him up when strange things begin to occur. Meanwhile a local police officer (Mokae) tracks the killer. Aided by a shaman’s admonishments about witchcraft he sets off to try and stop the beast before it can complete its grisly task.

because it is simply not true. it is inaccurate and contradicts itself because it was written by man, God did not inspire any part of it. And the parts that God did inspire, were actually just taken from the Old Testament.

Precisely Jim. God did not write these verses anymore than he wrote the Bible. Human Beings wrote them. Human Beings decided what was or was not included. Human beings decided what words were used. Why then should we be surprised that there are contradictions. We can’t even always agree on the meaning of a single word, never mind the meaning of any expression or phrase.
That does not mean that there are no truths in these writings, but it clearly demonstrates that it is folly to accept them at face value and literally.

Read the verses in context:
2:16 - These are they who have purchased error for guidance, so their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided.
2:17 - Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindled a fire; then, when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness. (So) they could not see.
2:18 - They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they return not.
2:19 - Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder, and lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunderclap for fear of death. But Allah ever encompasses the disbelievers.
2:20 - The lightning almost snatches away their sight, whenever it flashes for them, they walk therein, and when darkness covers them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Certainly, Allah has power over all things.
God uses two metaphors to describe two different states of non-believers. And what beautiful metaphors they are!

Some people seems to study Islam and the Qur’an, but it did not bring any good to them and others, instead it bring them humiliation. This is the true characteristic of the disbelievers and hypocrites who prefers misguidance above guidance. They say they just want to show people the truth from what they know.
